"The Nobel banquet or Nobel party is a banquet held in the Blue Hall in Stockholm City Hall after the awarding of the Nobel Prize and is a traditional part of the Nobel festivities. At the banquet a multi-course dinner is served, in addition there is entertainment and dancing followed by local media. The dress is festive attire." Wikipedia
When the festivities in the Blue Hall in Stockholm's City Hall begin to draw to a close, the after-party of after-parties begins, Students' Nobel NightCap, SNNC. It is organized by Stockholm's student unions in their premises and the participants, 2,000 - 3,000, are offered festivities and additional fantastic culinary experiences, usually a selection of Sweden's best food crafts.
"Students' Nobel NightCap, SNNC, is the continuation of the Nobel Banquet on December 10. It is organized entirely by university students and is run purely by volunteer power. Since its inception in 1978, the party has grown and is today an established part of Nobel Week, and something that the vast majority of the guests at the Nobel Banquet visit." Wikipedia
It has been called the world's coolest after-party. Royalty, Nobel laureates and high academics are invited here. But the after-party for the Nobel banquet is surrounded by great secrecy.
It's bombastic, student fare and imaginative. Sometimes you eat Gourmet crackers and cream cheese or a sausage with bread, someone else drinks coffee and a third book a table at an improvised restaurant on the premises - despite the late hour.
Most people seem to be enjoying themselves, although many circulate disconsolately in the narrow passages between the various rooms. There are many different departments to choose from, after a long day of distribution and banqueting.
