A flavorful, wonderful jam of organic figs with a slight heat and fruitiness of Habanero Big Sun chilies. Perfect for cheese. This best jam of figs elevates your cheese plate from good to divine.
A wonderfully uniquely good fig jam, really good and luxurious. The jam is fresh and structured, a full flavor of fig with an impressive richness of flavor, minerality, complexity and deep long aftertaste. Simply the best, with amazing taste.
These days, no cheese plate is complete without good jam, preferably homemade. This one is homemade, cooked in my kitchen. Like red wine and steak, figs and cheese are a divine match, "made in foodie heaven". The sweet acidity of figs cuts through creamy cheeses like brie and camembert while balancing sharply flavored cheeses like cheddar and parmesan. In short, it is completely all-round.
Sure, you can buy plain old fig marmalade, but this fig marmalade really takes things to the next level. You can impress even the snobbiest of your friends with this amazing fig jam with a little heat. Like I said, simply the best.
Perfect for all cheeses, green and blue cheese, e.g. Sörmlands Ädel , goat and sheep cheese, cheddar, parmesan
Great Taste 2016: “A pleasant taste, leading to a charged complex journey of flavors, well balanced and easy to identify. Has a wonderful Eastern experience around him. We liked the idea, the innovation and the interestingness of this product. It has a delicious texture and a pleasant aftertaste. Is versatile and adaptable as an ingredient or accessory. The first thing you notice is the vanilla flavor, which leads to subtle vanilla notes that last through the fig seeds and the hot chili.”
"The fig is a species in the ficus genus and the mulberry family, which grows in the southern part of Europe and in countries around the Arabian Peninsula. Its fruits are edible and are generally referred to by the same name as the tree. Figs form deciduous shrubs or trees up to 10 meters high ." Wikipedia
Figs are sweet and juicy to varying degrees and are therefore excellent in a number of different desserts. Together with smoked ham, they also make a delicious starter.
In ancient times, figs were a good source of energy for pilgrims and soldiers around the entire Mediterranean. It is not surprising since they are rich in carbohydrates (calories!), minerals and vitamins. Nowadays , Ficus carica fruits , which are related to the mulberry, mainly come from Turkey, Greece, Spain, France, the Middle East, California and South Africa.
We use organic sun-dried figs. Our figs are grown in western Turkey. As the fig ripens, it loses moisture, shrivels and falls from the tree. There it is left to dry in the sun for 4-5 days before being harvested by hand. Naturally sweet and guaranteed to taste good.
