Fabulously good and gigantically tasty, this mammoth-like jam carries us through the autumn, with everything it has to offer. Like the giant Goliath in its golden outfit, it creates a bridge between different flavors. Let this phenomenal jam wrap around you like your favorite blanket as the seasons come to life outside your window.

Wild cherrries are a more tart variety of cherries, but without the prominent cherry flavor. There are small berries on the wild cherry bushes, a bit difficult to pick, but we got a few kilos together and there were a few jars of lovely jam. This is a Limited Edition , i.e. we have the jars we have and when they run out we have to wait until the next time we get a good harvest.

Wild cherries gives a jam with a fresh and sour taste that goes well with most cheeses. Just the right amount of sweetness to balance the mouth-watering taste of cherry - perfect for a creamy, buttery cheese like a mature Brie or to bring out the nuttiness of a mild Swiss cheese.

Cherries/wild cherries and cheese go just as well as strawberries and ice cream

Wild cherries are sometimes called Sour cherries are a species in the rose family. The species is not found growing wild, but occurs feral in most of Europe and Southwest Asia. The fruit is a stone fruit with a sour taste. The tree grows 4 to 10 meters high and has white flowers in the spring. The leaves are whole, pointed and sawn at the edge.

Wild cherries are various types of sour cherries with clear fruit juice. They are strongly acidic and the fruit is transparent bright red. Wild cherries have existed in Sweden for over 300 years and are often found near old crofts. The most common type of wild cherries is called large wild cherries and is grown up to central Svealand. Other varieties such as berit, nordia, ostheimer and others. is hardier further north.

Goes well with Brie, cream cheese, Cheddar, Appenzeller, Gruyere, Havarti, Gouda, Manchego, especially good with aged cheeses.
